Nurture Gnomes – Children’s Kindness Kit

I am a wife, mum to two adult sons (the youngest of whom is autistic).
Until recently, I have spent 24 years working in special needs education
and currently work as a parent support volunteer for our local autism
charity.

During Covid I wrote a children’s book about a little gnome who struggled
to talk about his emotions and this sparked the idea of using my skills to
create a range of resources designed to support children’s social
emotional development. These are currently being used by parents,
schools and play therapists.

In October 2022 I was lucky enough to win a small business award from
Theo Paphitis (Dragon’s Den) and this year was a finalist in the Rising Star
Category, winning a Highly Commended Award from We Are The City
(women in business).

Children's Kindness Kit
A set of 7 different pebbles with engaging activities for acts of kindness. 
These are designed to promote empathy development which helps children gain a 
kindness mindset and gives them feelings of confidence and happiness. When children 
experience kind emotions, it supports mental well-being, respect and pride for acting
 in a good way. There is one for each day of the week, where they choose one from the 
bag and at the end of the week, pop them all back in and choose again.
