Carols Needle Craft – Grey and Pink Teddy

Hi, my name is Carol and I am the name behind Carol's Needlecraft and, more recently,
 The Huggies.

At the beginning of 2020, just before the pandemic hit, I decided I wanted to learn 
to craft. I started with resin and then moved on to decoupage before eventually settling 
on Sewing and Carols Needlecraft was created. Now you have to understand that I hadn’t
 used a sewing machine for over 40 years, so where this thought came from, I have no idea
 but I thoroughly enjoy using one. I started making small quilted items such as makeup bags,
 pot holders and kiddies messenger bags.

Towards the end of 202I, I was looking for another new sewing challenge and made the 
decision that I wanted to make Soft toys. I soon discovered this wasn’t relatively as
 straightforward as I thought. It’s not just a case of buying some fabric and some stuffing 
....no they have been tested to meet UKCA standards. After a lot of reading and searching 
for compliant fabrics, threads and stuffing etc, I made up my first two dolls started the
 testing process. It was not a pleasant feeling hanging the poor little things from their
 ears and legs with a 9.5-kilo weight and as for setting fire to them....don’t ask! But
 they passed with flying colours, all the seams held and they self-extinguished when
 approached with a flame. I felt very proud. The Huggies were born!

Handmade from super soft and snuggly Cuddlesoft Velboa fabric in graphite and
pink and stuffed with Polyester Craft Filling.
There are big pink heart shaped pads on his feet.

This is a soft toy, there are no small parts and the facial features have been
 embroidered.

Measuring approximately 11 inches by 9 inches no one could resist cuddling this
huggable teddy.
